In the realm of high school physics, I believe that teaching Newton’s Laws is one of the most challenging chapters. This topic is a complex web of ideas and concepts. Forces like Tension, Friction, Normal Force, Gravity, Applied Force, and various types of Friction, such as Static and Kinetic, are just a few elements to deal with. What compounds the difficulty is that everything students learned from kinematics also comes into play in this chapter.
If you’ve been following my work, you’re aware that I advocate for simplifying physics. I firmly believe that if you can organize the material effectively, it becomes significantly easier for students to grasp. In this video, I share strategies on how to organize and simplify the material, making it less overwhelming for your students.
